Kristen Stevens, a Florida mother, has been killed after reportedly being stabbed by her estranged boyfriend, James Christopher Lindsey, “up to 70 times.”
According to WESH, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call on Friday, December 6. The man who made the call reportedly asserted that he had been stabbed in his leg while sleeping. Additionally, the caller reported that the woman he had been asleep with had also been stabbed. Furthermore, his injury was reportedly caused when he attempted to kick the assailant in defense of the woman.
Afterward, the caller reportedly ran to a neighbor’s house.
Once police arrived at the scene, they reportedly discovered Steven’s 16-year-old son. Per Fox 35 Orlando, the 16-year-old was asleep when the incident occurred. Furthermore, Stevens was reportedly discovered on her bedroom floor with “between 20 and up to 70” stab wounds.
Per the outlet, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office identified the assailant as Lindsey, Steven’s estranged boyfriend and father of her son. From there, deputies reportedly discovered that Lindsey had fled the scene and was involved in a single-vehicle car crash.
During the crash, Lindsey was reportedly ejected from his seat and died.
“This is a heartbreaking and traumatic incident that will have a lasting impact on families and a community,” Sheriff Dennis Lemma reportedly asserted per Fox 35 Orlando. “I am proud of our deputies’ quick response to the scene and our detectives who have been working around the clock to put these cases together. Our thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Our team will continue to work diligently to uncover the full details surrounding this case.”
Per WESH, the former couple reportedly had an 18-year history of domestic violence. The most recent incident between Lindsey and Stevens occurred on November 6. It reportedly resulted in Lindsey being arrested. However, he was ultimately released from jail.
According to Fox 35 Orlando, the man who reported the incident is expected to “fully recover.”
As The Shade Room previously reported, a Florida mother named Kelsey Glover was charged with first-degree murder. Furthermore, Kelsey was accused of drowning her 14-year-old daughter, Giselle, by holding her head underwater.
“Glover put her daughter in the bathtub and grabbed her by the hair and held her head underwater, [and the hammer attack happened because the roommate tried to save the girl,]” prosecutors reportedly asserted in a recent filing.
