In the last ten months, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ reputation as a hip hop legend has taken hit after hit with multiple lawsuits. Ironically, allegedly not keeping his hands (and body parts) to himself throughout his career is the reason.
Diddy Is In Custody Amid His Piling Lawsuits
The man once known for award-winning music, funding schools for the unprivileged, and throwing exclusive parties is now being associated with disgraced and predatory entertainment moguls. That list includes Bill Cosby, R. Kelly, and Harvey Weinstein, to name just a few.
On Monday (Sept. 16), the FBI arrested Combs at a hotel in New York City. Approximately 30 minutes before being detained, Diddy was filmed having a conversation in a city street. Feds have charged him with three felony charges, including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Diddy’s arrest follows ten months of back-to-back lawsuits against him, namely citing sexual misconduct. Much of those accusations are cited in the feds’ 14-page indictment. Additionally, the paperwork details some evidence, including weapons and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant, found at his mansions from raids earlier this year.
Combs appeared in court on Tuesday, Sept. 17, and prosecutors sought pre-trial detention. A judge granted the request and remanded Brother Love into custody after denying his $50 million bond proposal. The following day, a second judge denied his bail appeal. This means the producer will remain behind bars throughout his forthcoming trial.
According to The Cut, in less than a year, Sean Combs has faced at least 12 lawsuits related to sexual assault and abuse. Two arrived in May for alleged assaults in the late 90s and early 2000s. Earlier this month, former Dainty Kane member Dawn Richardcame forward with sexual abuse allegations. Most recently, a woman has accused Combs and his former bodyguard of raping her and recording the assault.

When Things Took A Turn For Diddy
In her Nov. 2023 lawsuit, Cassie exposed another side of her public relationship with Diddy from 2007 to 2018. She labeled the romantic and sexual aspects of it “manipulative and coercive, “accusing Combs of sexually assaulting, abusing, and trafficking her.
Within a day, Diddy settled the lawsuit for an undisclosed amount. At the time, his lawyer insisted in a statement that the settlement was “in no way an admission of wrongdoing.”
“Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best,” the lawyer said.
Exactly six months after the Nov. 17 settlement announcement, surveillance footage surfaced of Diddy’s abuse. He was seen dragging, kicking, and throwing a glass vase at Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel hallway. Despite Diddy’s lawyer standing on his innocence, the footage corroborates at least one incident of abuse Cassie described in the lawsuit.
Then Came His Apology
Days after the footage became public via CNN, Diddy apologized for his past actions, but not specifically to Cassie or any other alleged victim. Reports later claimed he was restricted by their lawsuit settlement terms.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that. I was f****d up. I mean I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, i’m disgusted now,” he said.

Nearly a week after the surveillance footage was released, Cassie broke her silence. She didn’t reference the viral video or name Diddy, but she spoke on the importance of believing victims “the first time.”
“The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning. Domestic violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”

Woman Sues For Assault While She Was Allegedly A Minor
Dec. 6, 2023:
In Dec. 2023, Combs was hit with his fourth lawsuit since Cassie filed the month before. The plaintiff kept her identity anonymous under Jane Doe, but accused Diddy of participating in her being “gang raped” in 2003 when she was 17.
She also accused the former president of Bad Boy Records, Harve Pierre, and an unnamed male associate of also assaulting her.
In her lawsuit, Jane Doe claimed she met Pierre at a Detroit lounge and then traveled with him and a third man to New York City on a private jet Diddy allegedly sponsored. They met at his studio, where she alleges all three men gave her drugs and alcohol, flirted with her, and groped her body.
The filing includes multiple color photos of that evening, including one with Jane Doe sitting in Diddy’s lap. By the end of the evening, Doe says all three men took turns penetrating her in nonconsensual sex.
Following the rapes, Jane Doe was reportedly taken back to the airport and flown back to Michigan — a journey she had “very limited recollection” of.
In Feb., Combs’ former producer and videographer, Rodney’ Lil Rod’ Jones, filed a bombshell lawsuit against him. During his employment, Lil Rod alleges Diddy used multiple methods in an attempt to “groom” him into sexual relations. Those methods reportedly included groping his genitals, parading around naked, and assault from associates connected to and directed by Diddy.
In the initial filing, Rodney Jones accused a cousin of Yung Miami’s of sexually assaulting him.
He later named Diddy’s son Justin Combs and Stevie J as defendants. Both, like Combs, via his lawyer, denied the accusations in the lawsuit.
Jones amended the lawsuit on March 25, the same day Homeland Security raided Diddy’s homes in Miami and Los Angeles. Justin and Christian Combs were temporarily detained at one of the raids as part of standard procedure.
Other defendants in Lil Rod’s suit include Combs’s chief of staff, Kristina Khorram; Universal Music Group CEO Sir Lucian Grainge; and former Motown Records CEO Ethiopia Habtemariam.
Woman Names Diddy As Defendant In Lawsuit Against Christian Combs
April 5, 2024:
Grace O’Marcaigh took to the Los Angeles County Superior Court to file a lawsuit against Diddy’s son, 26-year-old Christian Combs, per NBC News. She accused Christian of sexually violating her in December 2022 during a family boat charter while she was working as a stewardess. The suit also cites sexual harassment and inflection of emotional distress.
Diddy was named in the suit as liable for the assault due to the yacht charter being in his name. Grace also alleges that Combs aided and abetted the sexual assault.
Grace also claimed that she witnessed partying, drug use, and “constant rotation of suspected sex workers” at celebrity-studded gatherings.
Two Women Come Forward Against Diddy Ahead Of The Summer
May 22, 2024: Former Model Sues
Crystal McKinney accused Diddy of forcing her to have oral sex on him in 2003 while she was under the influence of drugs and alcohol., per TMZ.
At the time, Crystal was 22 and met the mogul at a fashion event in New York City. He allegedly invited her to his studio, where she hit a “very powerful” joint allegedly laced with another narcotic.
Afterward, she claims Diddy demanded she follow him into a bathroom and “suck” his genitalia. When she refused, he allegedly forced the oral sex by pushing her head into his crotch. She’s seeking unspecified damages.
The same week as Crystal’s lawsuit, April Lampros filed against Combs for sexual assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, per TMZ. She alleges that in 1995, she met the producer at a bar before they ended up in his Millennium Hotel room.
April, a fashion student at the time, alleges that she started to lose consciousness. However, she was awake and unable to move when Diddy allegedly began forcing himself on her. The next day, she allegedly woke up “nude, sore and confused.”
Months later, she allegedly gave him a second chance after he resumed his pursuits under the promise of giving April access to music industry events. However, he allegedly assaulted her a second time in a parking garage by forcing her to perform oral sex on him.
Michigan Inmate Wins $100M Default Judgment In Diddy Lawsuit, Judge Overturns It
September 9, 2024:
Michigan inmate Derrick Lee Cardello-Smithfiled a civil lawsuit against Combs in July, alleging sexual assault at a 1997 party.
After Combs failed to appear for a virtual hearing on Sept. 9, Judge Anna Marie Anzalone ruled in Derrick’s favor in the amount of $100 million in damages. The reward must be paid in monthly $10 million installments starting in October 2024.
As previously reported, Cardello-Smith claims that Sean Combs drugged and sexually assaulted him after meeting at a restaurant in Detroit. Derrick’s lawsuit claimed that Combs touched his buttock during an orgy at a party, then gave him a spiked drink that made him pass out. When he regained consciousness, Derrick said Diddy was having sexual relations with a woman and allegedly told him, “I did this to you, too.”
Diddy’s lawyer slammed the lawsuit as a sham, citing the Michigan inmate’s charges of sexual assault and kidnapping. Combs’ legal team also reacted by filing two emergency motions to overturn the judgment.
As of Sept. 18, the default judgment and payment plan no longer apply. A judge set aside the $100 million payout after the producer’s legal team argued that a Michigan inmate didn’t comply with the state law regarding the serving of civil lawsuits. The Los Angeles Times reports that a hearing in the case is scheduled for October. Diddy’s lawyers will likely seek a dismissal.
Dawn Richard Says She Witnessed Diddy Abusing Cassie
September 11, 2024:
As mentioned, Dawn Richard is the latest to join the growing list of Diddy accusers. TMZ first reported her lawsuit on Sept. 11.
Dawn detailed multiple instances of verbal abuse during filming for ‘Making The Band,’ and sexual misconduct in private, including Diddy allegedly fondling her bare breasts and butt in a trailer.
Furthermore, Richard claimed to have witnessed abuse inflicted on Diddy’s ex-girlfriends Kim Porter and Cassie. She alleged that in 2005, she saw Porter leaving the studio with her face “all banged up”
On another occasion, in 2009, Richard said she saw Diddy slam Cassie against a wall, choke her, and drag her up the stairs.
She alleged that Kalenna Harper also witnessed abuse against Cassie, but Harper later spoke out in a statement, seemingly denying having the same experience as Dawn.
Thalia Graves Says Diddy & His Bodyguard Assaulted Her In 2001
September 24, 2024:
Less than two weeks after Richard sued Diddy, a woman named Thalia Graves filed the 11th lawsuit against the producer in ten months.
Graves’ paperwork reportedly reveals that the assault happened in 2001 at Combs’ New York City recording studio, Daddy’s House. Thalia alleges that a few years after meeting the mogul through her ex-boyfriend, an alleged former executive at the Bad Boy label, Combs and his bodyguard assaulted her at the studio.
She accuses Diddy of drugging and bounding her before he allegedly “anally penetrated her without her consent” and slamming her head into a pool table to prevent her escape.
Additionally, Graves claims his former bodyguard, Joseph Sherman, also hit and forced her to give him oral sex. Hours after filing the suit, she held a tearful press conference with her lawyer, Gloria Allred.
Jane Doe Alleges She Became Pregnant After Sexual Assault
September 27, 2024:
This is the second lawsuit since Diddy’s arrest and the 12th in less than a year. TMZ reportedly reviewed court documents filed by Jane Doe via attorney Joseph L. Ciaccio. It was filed on Friday and alleges multiple incidents of sexual assault in a four-year period that began in 2020. Additionally, the paperwork claims Jane Doe fell pregnant but later suffered a miscarriage.
They reportedly met overseas, and she later joined him on an all-expenses-paid trip. Between 2021 and 2022, she says they had frequent link-ups, including at his homes in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and elsewhere.
However, during those encounters, the woman accuses Diddy of spiking her drinks and forcing her to have sex on multiple occasions, including in April 2022. She recalled finding bruises and a bite mark on her feet but being unable to remember what happened.
Jane Doe alleges she became pregnant in July 2022 after Combs allegedly forced her to take ketamine, per the documents. She claims that the producer’s associates harassed her about getting an abortion, but she ultimately miscarried.
