Kalenna Harper Reacts To Dawn’s Abuse Allegations Against Diddy
Roommates, you might recall that former Danity Kane member Dawn Richard accused Sean Combs of sexual abuse in a new lawsuit this week.
TMZ obtained the documents, where Dawn claims that she and Kalenna witnessed Combs being abusive towards his then-girlfriend Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura.
Well, Kalenna Harper has come forward to share her perspective. TMZ reports that Kalenna is seemingly denying ever seeing the music mogul abuse Cassie.
“While I fully respect Dawn’s right to recount her experiences, I want to emphasize that her account reflects her personal perspective and should not be interpreted as a universal truth applicable to everyone,” Harper says in the statement.
Kalenna explained that while she was present for some moments Dawn mentioned, they don’t reflect her own experience.
“It’s important to understand that while I was present in some of the same professional settings mentioned, many of the allegations and incidents described in this suit are not representative of my experiences, and some do not align with my own truth,” Harper continued.
Kalenna added that she will avoid discussing specific details as the legal process unfolds, focusing instead on her family, music, and work. She remains hopeful that the legal system will address the case fairly.
Here’s What Dawn Richard Said In The Lawsuit
As TSR reported, Dawn Richard filed a lawsuit against Diddy on Wednesday (Sept. 11).
Court documents obtained by The Shade Room reveal that Richard claims Diddy flew her and Kalenna Harper to his New York home for an afterparty in November 2009. At that time, other Bad Boy Records artists recorded Richard’s compositions, leading to her invitation to meet Harper. The three then formed the group Diddy — Dirty Money.
Richard claims that the high-profile event in November 2009 involved widespread drug use, according to page 13 of the lawsuit.
She also observed that many women arrived in revealing clothing, looked underage, and were given drugs and alcohol. Dawn further alleges that Combs and his guests engaged in sexual acts with these women.
She mentioned that the Bad Boy founder made comments like, “This is a buffet, enjoy yourselves; this is what we do, this is how we party,” per page 14 of the lawsuit.
Furthermore, Dawn said she asked Diddy’s assistant at the time, Capricorn Clark, to leave the party after feeling “shocked and horrified.” Ms. Clark suggested that Dawn wait 15 minutes to avoid drawing attention to her departure.
Richard remembered recording the first Diddy — Dirty Money album at the rapper’s Los Angeles home.
During one meeting, Richard claims she and Harper saw Combs verbally abuse Cassie in the kitchen. Additionally, page 12 of the lawsuit describes an incident where Combs pushed Cassie against a wall, choked her, and threw a hot pan of eggs at her. Cassie then fell to the ground before Diddy dragged her up the stairs.
Dawn said that Kalenna took her out of the residence to prevent her from intervening. The next day, the producer allegedly demanded that his bandmates return and issued them a warning.
According to page 13 of the lawsuit, Combs said, “I’m giving you an opportunity; if you want to make it, you’ll shut your mouth..if you say anything, there will be consequences.”
