Amber Harrison, the ex-girlfriend of Lucas Coly, has broken her silence following his alleged self-inflicted passing. Coly died earlier this week in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 27 years old.
Since then, fans have circulated questions about what happened and whether his relationship with Amber had any impact on his decision to self-harm.
Here’s What Happened To Lucas Coly
For context, Lucas was known for solo songs like ‘I Just Wanna’ and group music with the band Diamondz. Additionally, fans on social media were familiar with his content creation and French-speaking skills, per The Shade Room. The 27-year-old was reportedly born in France and moved to the United States at age 8. His rise to fame started on Vine. Then, in 2018, he and Amber started their YouTube channel, per The U.S. Sun.
Coly’s manager confirmed his passing in an Instagram feed post on Oct. 3. The caption has since been edited, but initially, the manager shared that his heart feels “ripped to shreds.”
“We used to speak on our struggles all the time but smile for the fans. So many people hurt us again and again, but we had each other. I don’t know what to do now. I’d be a hypocrite if I told you not to, and I go and do the same,” the manager shared.
Several media outlets, including U.S. Weekly, confirmed the rapper’s cause of death with the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office in Vegas. He reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Rapper’s Ex-Girlfriend Asks Fans To “Let Him Rest”
Lucas’ ex-girlfriend, Amber Harrison, addressed his death in several clips circulating on social media. The clips originated in a social media livestream she hosted. First, she clocked people who seemingly blamed her for not getting her late boyfriend the help he allegedly needed. Her eyes appeared swollen and teary, presumably from grieving Lucas.
“How f**king dare you? Nine years, and you think I f**king stood here like a pole, stop sign? On froze, just like…,” Amber said, pausing for the effect. “Are you slow? I did…everything I could. That’s all I can say.”
She further suggested that his self-inflicted passing was related to their recent split. “I did everything I could. He could not take the break-up, and that’s just what it is. I couldn’t do it anymore,” Harrison said. Amber added that she’s nearing age 30 and that if someone doesn’t want the help she’s offered by now, it’s on them.
Amid breaking her silence, Amber also revealed that she heard Lucas fire the fatal shot. “So don’t fault me for choosing myself ’cause would you rather be saying RIP Lucas and Amber?”
“When I was on the phone, and I heard it, I screamed. I said, ‘No, no, no, he did it. He did it.’ I said ‘Mom, mom, mom, call 911,” Amber said in between sobbing.
In another clip, Amber Harrison said that in their last conversation, her ex-boyfriend threatened her with committing self-harm if she chose not to return to the relationship. “I’m going to do it. And it don’t just be, it’s gon be me and you in this b***h,” Amber recalled.
“I just catch myself sitting back just thinking about this sh*t. Thinking about the sound, pow. Phone dropping, just like, you really…you still…in this life before exiting, didn’t give me love that I deserve.”
Before going live on social media, Amber had also shared a photo of Lucas Coly’s alleged phone. She captioned the Instagram Stories post with, “This made me feel a lot better! Amen! Y’all don’t know the half!!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!! Let him rest.”
In her livestream, Amber also addressed going through his phone post-mortem. She doubled down on the relief it gave her.
“But I’m not going to lie to you guys. Me going through that phone kinda toughened me up a little bit. It kinda made me like, ‘Bet that up,'” Amber said before seemingly speaking directly to Lucas. “I know you loved it, but bat it up. I’ll see you one day, we’ll talk about it.”
