Paulette Thompson, the wife of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, has spoken out after he was fatally gunned down in Manhattan, New York, on Wednesday, December 4.

According to NBC New York, Paulette informed the outlet that “there were some people that had been threatening” her husband leading up to the fatal shooting. Brian’s wife reportedly did not provide “details.” However, the outlet reports that she seemingly “suggested they may have involved issues with insurance coverage.”
“There had been some threats, basically. I don’t know. A lack of coverage? I don’t know details. I just know that he said there were some people that had been threatening him,” she reportedly explained, per TMZ.
Additionally, in a statement to Fox News Digitial, Paulette explained that her husband had a “big heart” and “touched” the lives of many people.
“We are shattered to hear about the senseless killing of our beloved Brian. Brian was an incredibly loving, generous, talented man who truly lived life to the fullest and touched so many lives,” she said. “More importantly, Brian was an incredibly loving father to our two sons and will be greatly missed. We appreciate your well-wishes and request complete privacy as our family moves through this difficult time.”
Lastly, Paulette Thompson reportedly shared another statement with KARE 11
“Brian was a wonderful person with a big heart and who lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by everybody. Our hearts are broken and we are completely devastated by this news. He touched so many lives. We ask everybody to respect our privacy during this time,” she said.

According to TMZ, Paulette and Brian have been “separated for years but lived close to each other.” They reportedly shared two children, one of whom is reportedly still underage.
Per the New York Post, it remains unclear when the couple separated. Furthermore, the outlet notes that Paulette works as a physical therapist and has “notably kept her husband out of her work biography.”
“I love spending time with my two boys and taking them to all of their activities,” her biography reportedly reads. “I also love boating, spending time with family and friends, playing piano, biking, and traveling.”
