Pusha T Weighs In On Drake & Kendrick Lamar
In a clip from an interview TSR snagged, Pusha T shared his thoughts on the iconic rap feud between Drizzy and K.Dot. When asked if he agrees with the people that Kendrick claimed the crown in their battle, Pusha didn’t flinch, saying, “One thousand percent.”
“I think that Kendrick is a lyricist and a lyricist that talks to your soul. Like, you can be clever, you can say cute things and do things in cadences and so and so forth, right? But the truth really hurts, and I mean the truth like cuts deep, and I think what Kendrick was doing was really talking to his soul,” Pusha explained.
Pusha doubled down, saying Kendrick Lamar snatched the win because it made Drizzy crash out and take their rap feud to a whole new level by deciding to sue Universal Music Group.
“I believe that, and I believe that’s, you know, that would cause you to [tap out]. That’ll cause you to sue. That’ll cause you to do A LOT of things. Suing is crazy! It’s nuts!” Pusha added.

More Info On Drizzy’s Universal Music Group Petitions
Drake was a hot topic again in November after he decided to take his rap beef with Kendrick Lamar to court. Instead of going directly at K.Dot, Drizzy aimed his legal issues at Universal Music Group. According to TMZ, Drake’s accusing UMG of us “payola schemes” and bots to boost Kendrick’s ‘Not Like Us’ diss track. The Canadian spitter claims an “Inside source” at UMG spilled the beans, saying the label paid off platforms — radio stations, influencers, and more — to pump up the track. The ‘Headlines’ musician is also raising eyebrows over how fast the song blew up on Spotify, and if it turns out to be true, he might need to present proof that UMG broke payola laws.
UMG Responds To Drizzy
Universal Music Group didn’t waste any time responding to Drake’s accusations. A spokesperson for the label shut down the musician’s claims from the petition on Nov. 25.
“The suggestion that UMG would do anything to undermine any of its artists is offensive and untrue. We employ the highest ethical practices in our marketing and promotional campaigns. No amount of contrived and absurd legal arguments in this pre-action submission can mask the fact that fans choose the music they want to hear,” the spokesperson explained in an official statement.
UMG also made it clear to Variety that it’s not up to the label, but the fans actually choose the music that gets the most attention. “No amount of contrived and absurd legal arguments in this pre-action submission can mask the fact that fans choose the music they want to hear.”
