Celebrity Wax Figures That Didn’t Quite Hit: Nicki Minaj In Madame Tussauds Germany
As The Shade Room previously reported, in January 2020, Madame Tussauds Germany unveiled its wax figure of Nicki Minaj. Furthermore, the location remodeled one of Minaj’s looks from her 2014 ‘Anaconda’ music video. For the ensemble, Minaj sported a golden chain corset and black skintight bottoms. Additionally she donned her long black hair in a slick-back ponytail.
In reactions on social media, users referred to the figure as a “wannabe” or “gentrified version” of Minaj — oop!
Lil Wayne
In 2022, the Hollywood Wax Museum unveiled its rendition of a wax figure modeled after Lil Wayne, per The Shade Room. Additionally, the figure donned matted dreads, and beaded chains along with plaid-style bottoms. Then, in October 2023, the figure went viral. At the time, it captured the attention of Wayne himself, who shared his puzzled thoughts along with other social media users.
The Rock
Around the same time, a wax figure of The Rock was unveiled at the Grévin Museum in Paris, France, per The Shade Room. Immediately, social media users went off with puzzled reactions to the figure’s complexion. Ultimately, The Rock chimed in, expressing his agreement with users and dropping some “important details” for the creators on how “improvements” could be made to his body double.
Later that month, the team at the Grévin Museum unveiled its updated celebrity wax figure of The Rock, fixing their mistake of initially falling short, per The Shade Room.
