North West is growing up on us! The 11-year-old was recently tapped for the cover of Interview Magazine, which is celebrating its 55th anniversary. Her mother, Kim Kardashian, interviewed her for the feature. Northie opened up about a few topics, including God and spreading the gospel, paparazzi taking photos of her and her top artists.
North West Talks Having Faith & Praying With Her Siblings
In the Q&A with Kim, North shared that one lesson she’ll never forget is “To trust God only.” She later added that spreading the gospel is how she helps other people. “Tell them about God, and how problems get solved if they follow his word and his way,” Northie said.
Apparently, those people include her siblings, whom the 11-year-old revealed she taught to pray during the “best day” of her life in Italy with their dad. If you didn’t know, North is Kim and Ye’s eldest child, followed by Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
“It was just us and my siblings, and that’s when I really brought them close to God, because we had this house and there was these devil statues, and I was like, ‘Mm-mm, mm-mm, no, girl.’ I was like, ‘We got to pray.’ So then I taught Chi and Psalm and Saint how to pray. God really did his thing after.”
Also, the 11-year-old admitted that God is still a topic she’d like to learn more about.
West Shares Her True Feelings About Paparazzi
The Interview Magazine cover story comes months after she had her first on-camera interview in March. Last October, though, was the first time North West appeared solo on a magazine cover for i-D Magazine.
When Kim asked her daughter whether she likes being on camera, Northie replied:
“I like taking pictures of myself, but I don’t like when paparazzi do. When I just woke up and there’s so much paparazzi, I’m like, ‘Yo, I’m going to sue you.’ If I’m ready, if I’m not tired, if my outfit’s good, I’m like, ‘Okay, I could take a pictures.'”
West has been calling out the paparazzi since she was a child. The first time she reportedly spoke to the press was as a toddler heading to dance practice in 2015. She was two years old at the time. As the cameras snapped, she said, “No pictures.”
11-Year-Old Names Her Favorite Artists, Class In School & What She Wants To Be When She Grows Up
Additionally, in the sit-down, North West shared her favorite artists, which surprisingly didn’t include her dad Ye. However, she did say that her favorite style is streetwear and 90s looks, and cited herself, her dad and Tyler the Creator as muses.
As for her top three artists, Tyler the Creator made the cut there, too. Nicki Minaj and Yuno Miles are also on her list, though she didn’t specify in which order. Miles is also her favorite rapper. When the interview happened in early September, North said she wanted to dress up as Tyler and Nicki for Halloween, among a few other costumes. Also, Tyler’s ‘I Don’t Love You Anymore’ was her favorite song last month.
Elsewhere in the interview, Northie admitted that she doesn’t like school or her art class, which she called annoying. Her favorite class, though, is Latin.
Near the end of the Q&A, North West said that she’s not waiting until she’s older to pursue her career. She’s doing it now.
“…I already do a lot of stuff that I want to be when I grow up. I just want to pursue my careers now,” she said.
