Marshall Glaze, who starred in season four of ‘Love Is Blind,’ has revealed a major update about his relationship with Dr. Chay Barnes eight months after sharing their engagement.
According to an exclusive report published by PEOPLE on Friday, September 27, Glaze has confirmed that he and Dr. Barnes have called off their engagement. Additionally, Glaze informed the outlet that he and Barnes are no longer a couple.
“Ultimately, we came to the realization that we are in two different places in life right now,” the ‘Love Is Blind’ star reportedly told the outlet during a DirecTV x PEOPLE EW Reality TV Party on Thursday, September 26.
Furthermore, Glaze explained that “it’s okay” and “things happen.” However, he and Dr. Barnes are “not ruling each other out.”
“You know, it’s okay. Things happen and we’re not ruling each other out,” she said. “Time will only tell. She understands that, I understand it, and we’re just going forward.”
Ultimately, Glaze stated that his relationship with Dr. Barnes was a “very positive experience.”
According to the outlet, Glaze was introduced to his former fiancée during filming for a ‘Love Is Blind’ spin-off titled, ‘After the Altar.’ Additionally, on the show, the star reportedly gushed about how he wanted to spend his life with Dr. Barnes.
“I do know that’s who I want. That’s who I wanna spend my life with,” he reportedly said. “First person I want to call is her, and that says something. I just feel it. I’m happy, man. I’m extremely happy.”
Per PEOPLE, the couple celebrated their first anniversary in July 2023.
“One year of laughing, crying, adjusting, communicating, healing…” they reportedly wrote in the now-deleted Instagram post. “Our journey to where we are today is a testament of resilience and unconditional love for one another. Cheers to Year One and cheers to many more.”
Then, earlier this year, on January 23, Glaze revealed that he popped the big question to Dr. Barnes on December 23, 2023. As The Shade Room previously reported, at the time, Glaze shared shared the revelation via Instagram.
“The journey to ‘Happily Ever After’ started on 12.23.23,” he reportedly wrote at the time, adding. “Such a special day. She had NO idea. GOTCHA.”
Dr. Barnes has yet to publicly address her split from Glaze.
