Is it shade? That’s the question supporters of Quincy Brown are asking themselves after his recent post praising his parents. The 33-year-old shared a caption that highlighted his mother, Kim Porter, and his father, Al B. Sure! But the photo in the post only included Kim.
On Friday (Nov. 15), Al clarified the photo’s origins and his relationship with his son. Keep scrolling to see what happened.

Kim Porter’s Kids Recognize Her Sixth Death Anniversary
As mentioned, Quincy Brown shared his post on Friday (Nov. 15). His caption said, “Here’s a rare photo of me with my Mom and Dad. I miss you every day.” Meanwhile, the post included one photo that shows Kim Porter hugging Quincy as a toddler. He looked to be less than three years old at the time and was sitting inside of a Little Tikes car. Aside from the caption, Al B. Sure! is not included in the post in any way.
For context, Brown shared the post of his mother on the sixth anniversary of her death. Kim passed on Nov. 15, 2018, from lobar pneumonia. Besides her eldest Quincy, Kim is also survived by Christian and twin daughters D’Lila and Jessie — whom she shared with Diddy. The twins also shared a post honoring their later mother on Friday. “We think about you every single second of the day,” their Instagram caption said.
As mentioned, more than 2,000 of Brown’s 4.2 million IG followers have slid into his comment section with various reactions.
“It’s me trying to slide the picture looking for your dad,” @brandiiii__wrote, adding a laughing emoticon.
“Awe ok, I get it now. lol cause I’m like is the dad in the room with us or something???” @iyyanaax2 added.
“Why shade your dad when sharing memories of your mom? Also, when she was alive we’ve never heard her speak Ill of him. They seemed to still be cool,” @phillyjawnbritt said.
@lilian_brown wrote, “His dad started it! Sometimes the kids have to finish it!”
@lotus.flower.bomb wrote, “Shading him but backing the baby oil bandit is wild! Rip Kim.”
“I love the caption! Speak your truth. Your mother is with you every day Q. Such a beautiful photo,” @sipwitchyna said.
Al B. Sure! Said THIS In Response To Quincy’s Post
Quincy’s apparent shade towards Al B comes after he shared a post about kids being weaponized. Earlier this week, Al shared a post that read, “Nothing breaks a dad more than seeing his love for his kids turned into a weapon against him.” He added “#FreQuincy” to the Instagram Stories post.
His comments seem to be about Quincy’s continued support for Diddy amid his racketeering and sex trafficking case.

Additionally, on Nov. 15, Al B shared a tribute post for Kim Porter that included photos of them. In the comment section, he answered questions about his relationship with Brown. One user asked, “He unblocked you?”
“The real question is he still following a man that abused his mother and he knows it very clearly. Think about that when you’re sitting at your desk at work on Monday trying to unravel this mystery in your mind,” Al B wrote back.
Another user credited Al for taking the “adult approach” and suggested that Quincy is “brainwashed” and that Al B should “never stop trying.”
“@nubiangoddessspinky What my son @Quincy knows very clearly is that I actually took that photo of he and his mother Kimberly in the parking lot of the Toys-R-Us. He liked the red car so much that he decided he was going to ride it right out of the store. I found that photo and gave it to Kim because she called me and told me all of our family photos had miraculously burned up in a house fire. One of the many facts that whole world has no clue about.”
On Saturday, another user asked Al B in the same comment section if he peeped Quincy’s shade. Al, again, denied it was shade and clarified that he snapped the picture.
“@tania_sillah__1K it wasn’t shade, his father was the one taking the picture of him and Kimberly,” he replied. That’s just everyone being thirsty for more perceived drama. It’s all for the internet. Wait for it.”
Less than two months ago, Quincy Brown opened up about where he stands with Al B. Sure! He told Angela Yee on ‘Lip Service’ that they’re “cool now” but that the dad-son relationship vibe was not where they were at in life. “We’re homies, more than anything,” Quincy said.
